Join Our Team at Denton and Harlaxton Federation. We are looking for a Senior Administrator with Bursar Duties to join our team.

Denton and Harlaxton Schools are a close knit federation with each school just a mile apart and situated to the west of Grantham on the border with Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. Both schools are held in extremely high regard and are well respected within their communities. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly organised Senior Administrator with Bursar Duties to join our dedicated team as soon as possible.

About the Role
As the Senior Administrator, you will be the cornerstone of our school financial systems. You will work alongside our fantastic administrators who manage efficient day-to-day operations. Within the bursarial duties will be the offer of essential support to the Headteacher and Governors in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality administrative support and to assist the Headteacher and Head of School in all matters within the management of the schools.
• Manage school budgets and financial systems, ensuring accurate records and compliance with statutory returns.
• Support in HR administration and payroll processing.
• Oversee contracts and monitor third-party services such as catering, cleaning, and energy suppliers.
• Maintain inventories, handle income and expenditure, and prepare reports for governors and external agencies.
• Lead, Prepare and submit written reports on the financial state of the school to the governors, with the report remit determined by the finance committee. Meet half-termly with a named finance governor to review expenditure.
• Attend all finance committee meetings
• Monitor and report on the school fund. Coordinate the school fund audit and implement any recommendations arising from it.
• Assist the Headteacher in preparing the School Financial Value Standard (SFVS) and present it to the governing board.
• Contribute to the maintenance of an up-to-date asset register
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the Estates Strategy
• Contribute to school’s risk management procedures, including Health & Safety compliance.

We’re looking for a candidate who is:
• Experienced at bursar level or has equivalent financial training.
• Highly computer literate with strong organisational skills.
• A confident communicator, both written and verbal.
• Adaptable, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
