Apprenticeship Admin Assistant

Job Introduction

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and conscientious administrator to join our school.

The post will be for 37.5 hours per week to be worked 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday, term time only. You will be entitled to a half-hour unpaid lunch break.

You will be entitled to release time of 1 day per month to attend an apprenticeship workshop, and some time will be allocated each week for coursework (average 1 -2 hours depending on tasks).

The role will require use of computerised systems, including database systems, to input and manage data. In addition, the successful applicant will be required to manage the ‘front of house’ area, greeting visitors and making them feel welcome, along with dealing with email and telephone communications to the school. They are also expected to assist in the arrangement of routine in-school activities such as school photographs, induction events, publicity and newsletters, reports, supply cover, performances and school visits etc.

In addition to the above, the role will involve:
• Maintaining such records as may be required, including admissions, leavers, staff and student records.
• Liaising with parents as directed regarding issues relating to individual pupils, including investigating absences.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
• The ability to work independently and as part of a small office team in a busy office.
• The ability to establish good working relationships at all levels of the school – with children, parents, staff and governors.
• A pleasant manner with visitors
• They are proactive and conscientious about enhancing the education of pupils and supporting and promoting the positive work of the school.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent numeracy, literacy and IT skills
• Excellent organisation skills, the ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively and work to tight deadlines.

Fluency Duty
