Catering Assistant (To start September 2026)

Hours 10.45am to 2:00pm Monday – Friday with a 15 minute unpaid lunch break (term time only 39 weeks per year). 15 hours per week.
The post will be paid on G1 point 3 of the NJC scale (£24,521 pro-rata, £12.71 hourly).

As part of the School Catering Team you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of high quality meals and snacks for over 800 students. This busy and sometimes demanding job will entail preparing and serving lunches, cleaning, cashless till operation and generally assisting the Catering Manager in the smooth running of the kitchen and dining room. You will be required to undergo health and safety and the requisite food handling and hygiene training and obtain the appropriate certificates. Previous experience of working within a commercial or school kitchen environment is desirable although not essential.
