Clerk to Governors

Due to the current post holder stepping down, Clough and Risegate Community Primary School is looking for a Clerk to the Governors to start in November 2026.

We are a small rural primary school located in Gosberton Clough, near Spalding, with approximately 94 children on roll, aged from 4-11 years.

The successful candidate will be willing to become part of our friendly administrative team, and will be a self-motivated individual, who is reliable, efficient and effective.

Whilst experience as a Clerk to the Governors is highly beneficial, we would also like to encourage colleagues who may be new to the profession.

The successful applicant will be required to attend all Full Governing Body and Committee Meetings, and this can be in a virtual capacity should it be required.

There are 6 Full Governing Body Meetings per annum (held on a Monday or Thursday evening subject to availability of Governors and applicable staff) Dates of meetings for the school year are normally set during the previous summer term. Meetings are held at the school or via TEAMS.

There are a further 5 meetings of the Finance Committee per annum held on Monday mornings at the school and attendance may be required to take minutes at Pay Review committee meetings and Extraordinary Governance meetings.

We are ideally looking for someone who:


Is an efficient and effective administrator and team member.
Is organised, self-motivated and methodical in their work
Is able to set agendas and take detailed minutes.
Is able to work with a diverse governing body.
Is able to source and provide advice to the governing body.
Is able to abide by the confidentiality of the role at all times.
Is competent with IT.
Has undertaken or is willing to undertake the National Clerks Training Programme.

Pay Scale G4 Pro-rata annual salary is £1610.82, 2.2 hours per week

Fluency Duty
