Job Introduction

We are seeking to appoint a SENDCo here at Queen Elizabeth’s High School from 1 September 2025. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate to make a difference for our students. 

 

This post attracts a salary on the Main or Upper Pay Scale dependent upon experience to date, plus TLR2c. The SENDCo will also be expected to teach in the region of 0.25FTE.

 

The Role

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational SENDCo to join our team. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with vulnerable children to ensure they receive the education they deserve and will bring an innovative and creative approach to supporting the strategic direction and development of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND, including medical conditions) provision across our school, whilst effectively managing and developing the progress and achievement of our students. The SENDCo will also be expected to take on the role of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and work closely with our Designated Safeguarding Lead and Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer in promoting safeguarding throughout the school.  

 

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be a strong practitioner with a degree and a teaching qualification. Ideally, you will hold a National SENDCo qualification, or be prepared to complete this training within three years of appointment. Experience of working with students with a range of additional needs as well as knowledge of the SEND agenda is essential.
