Job Introduction

The children, head teacher, staff and governors of Rauceby Church of England Primary School are seeking to appoint two Teaching Assistants to join our teaching team. We work hard to support all our children so they can achieve their potential, and this post is to support children with special educational needs across our school.

We are looking for someone who is willing and able to develop a strong understanding of a number of children’s needs and how to support them, working in partnership with their class teachers, SENDCO, our wider staff team and the children’s families. The successful candidate will be able to expertly support children’s learning as well as the personal and emotional development of children during their time at school.

This post is temporary until the child/children or the Education, Health and Care Plan/s funding ceases. The posts are for the following hours although we will also accept applications from candidates who wish to combine both posts to form a full time position.

Post 1: 16.25 hours to include five mornings
Post 2: 11.25 hours to include five afternoons


We are looking for the candidate/s to start as soon as possible, preferably at the start of Term 3 (January 2026)

Our ideal candidate/s will be able to:

• expertly support children’s development and learning – educationally, emotionally and socially
• understand how to support children who are experiencing emotional dysregulation
• support and understand children’s sensory needs
• promote children’s self-esteem and confidence
• assist with the planning and preparation of activities and implement provision plans including programmes from outside agencies
• enjoy working as part of a team and be able to use their own initiative
• be solution focused with a positive attitude
• draw on their experience of working with children in a primary school or special school setting
• use their experience of working and interacting with children with special educational needs to support the needs of individual children
• use their experience or knowledge of children with social communication difficulties, emotional dysregulation, and sensory need.
• commit to be involved in the wider life of our village school

Fluency Duty

In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
