Temporary Teaching Assistant

Job Introduction

Kidgate Primary Academy requires a Temporary Teaching Assistant (32.5 hours a week, term time only – Temporary until 31st August 2026, dependent upon child remaining at the school and/or external funding being in place).

Due to additional needs within the school, we are looking to appoint an experienced, highly motivated,
flexible and inspirational qualified Teaching Assistant to join our team as soon as possible. We would
particularly welcome applications from potential candidates who have experience of delivering phonics,
‘specifically Read Write Inc’. The successful candidate will believe that every child can succeed and will
work as part of a dedicated, supportive team to provide high quality care and learning opportunities.

• experience of working in a similar role
• the ability to facilitate a positive and nurturing learning environment
• excellent Interpersonal skills
• a caring, nurturing and positive attitude towards others
• the ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of phonics, English and maths to support
children’s learning
• the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team
• a sound understanding of safeguarding
• a minimum of GCSE pass in both maths and English
• a good sense of humour.

Fluency Duty
