Post: 1:1 Teaching Assistant Level 1 (SEN)
Perm / Temp: Appointment fixed to duration of EHCP pupil attending Nocton Community Primary School
Salary / Grade: Pay Grade G3 point 6 -9 (gross £17,406 - £18,244 approx.)
Term: 30 hours 25 minutes per week / 6 hours and 5 minutes per day (8.45 am to 3.20pm with a 30 minute lunch break)
Term time only – 38 weeks per year (an additional 5 days are required for training – total 39 weeks)
Required From November / December 2025

We currently have a temporary vacancy in our close knit, supportive small school.
The Spires Federation is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, effective and inspirational 1:1 Teaching Assistant to be based at Nocton Community Primary School, to work with pupils who have an ECHP. The pupils require support to ensure that there are as many opportunities to enable them to integrate and socialise with their peers and to be able to access the curriculum. Knowledge and experience of working within the Early Years /KS1 and /or with SEND would be beneficial.

The Governing Body is looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant who:
• Will actively support and enhance the Vision and Values of our Federation
• Is pro-active and conscientious about enhancing the education of pupils and supporting and promoting the positive work of the school and Federation
• Has a positive, warm and welcoming personality with the ability to communicate well with children, parents, staff and Governors alike
• Has high expectations of pupils’ achievements and behaviour
• Understands how pupils learn and how best to support them to success
• Can plan and deliver quality sequences of learning in all subject areas
• Has excellent literacy skills and is able to communicate effectively and politely with all stakeholders
• Approaches curriculum development creatively, crafting a stimulating and conducive learning environment
• Is organised and pays attention to detail, carrying out the role with precision, care and enthusiasm
• Qualified to Teaching Assistant Level 3 desirable
• Experience of working with children with special educational needs
• Willing to undertake elements of personal care

Fluency Duty
