Job Introduction
East Wold CE Primary School is a small, friendly and inclusive village primary school located on the outskirts of Louth.
We are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 5 (but working with Year 3) with a primary need of global development delay and a broad need of communication and interaction. The hours are 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate would need to:
• work under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo
• support the child to access the available learning opportunities, within a broad and balanced curriculum, by adapting the teacher’s planning to suit the child’s needs and by encouraging active participation in all learning
• provide lots of opportunities for developing her social skills with her peers
• provide regular opportunities to overlearn tasks
• have a good understanding of the National Curriculum, in order to be able to move the child’s learning forward
• assess the child’s learning against Individual Support Plan and Education, Health and Care Plan targets.
• support the development of the child’s communication skills
• supervise the child to promote positive socialisation at playtimes whilst ensuring her safety on the playground.
