We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant, who is passionate about the development of the whole child, to join our caring and inclusive team at Quadring Cowley and Brown’s Primary School.
Teaching Assistant Post 1-1 SEN support
We are seeking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant who will be able to offer an exceptional level of support for a child with additional educational needs.
The role of a SEN Learning Support Assistant is crucial in ensuring that the curriculum is personalised for individual pupils. The person will be confident in adapting activities to allow the child in their care to make expected or better progress.
We are looking for someone:
• Who has a proactive and caring approach to developing children’s learning
• Who is patient, caring, supportive and flexible and has a good sense of humour.
• Who can build relationships effectively.
• Who is able to make learning fun and engaging
• Who is able to support a child on a 1:1, 1:2 and in small group interventions.
• Who is able to work on specific support programmes as directed.
• Who is able to support children using positive behaviour strategies
• With excellent communication and team working skills
• Who has the ability to promote social and emotional development and learning
• Who has the willingness to encourage a child with specific needs to reach their potential.
The main purpose of this role will be to support a child with an EHCP and liaise with school staff to ensure the best possible outcome for the child in their care.
The main duties of this role will include supporting teaching and learning in the classroom, supporting the learning of the individual child, supporting fulfilling the requirements of an EHCP, Personal behaviour support plans and individual targets, as well as supporting interventions for the child for both academic, emotional and social wellbeing and catch-up learning, in 1:1, 1:2 and small group interventions.
The role also includes supporting development of friendships and positive play at lunchtimes and playtimes.
