Job Introduction
Cliffedale Primary School is seeking to appoint an outstanding Caretaker to join our friendly and hardworking team as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to –
• Keep the school premises safe and secure for children, staff and visitors
• Act as a key holder, ensuring the security and safety of the school buildings and grounds
• Manage opening/locking up routines and respond to alarm activations and emergencies
• Oversee the heating systems, reporting faults and ensuring required temperatures are maintained
• Carry out general maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning of designated areas and porterage duties
• Support the upkeep of external areas including litter collection, clearing drains, winter gritting and snow clearance
• Supervise and liaise with contractors and support cleaning staff as needed
• Complete routine Health & Safety checks, including fire alarms, asbestos monitoring and legionella testing
We are looking for someone who –
• Has previous relevant experience in a caretaking, maintenance or similar practical role
• Understands Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
• Is proactive, organised, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team and has a positive solution focused attitude
• Communicates well with staff, contractors and visitors
• Is physically able to undertake manual duties such as moving furniture, lifting and working in confined spaces
• Holds a full, clean UK driving licence
