Job Introduction


Charles Baines Community Primary School are seeking a Co-Headteacher (0.2 FTE) to start Summer Term 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.


The Governors of The Gainsborough Charles Baines Community Primary School are looking to appoint a temporary (to 31 July 2027) co-headteacher to work with the current Headteacher to take on the challenge of ensuring the continued growth and development of our school. 

We maintain the very highest expectations and aspirations for all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and those who are disadvantaged.

As a co-headteacher of Charles Baines you will:


• Work with the current Headteacher to help staff deliver the actions and achieve the milestones of the Rapid Improvement Plan
• Have a thorough understanding of systems for safeguarding and child protection to ensure the welfare of all children
• Demonstrate a commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the values of the school
• Fulfil the professional responsibilities of a headteacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD).

Salary: Leadership (L11 to L17 pro rata)

Fluency Duty

In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
