Enhanced Support Teaching Assistant

Job Introduction

Sir Francis Hill Community Primary School are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated Enhanced Support Teaching Assistant, to support pupils with additional needs, including on a 1:1 basis.

  • Grade: 3
  • Salary: £22,827 approx. pro rata
  • Type of contract: Permanent
  • Appointment: Term time
  • The hours are 30 per week, term time only, on a daily basis as follows: 8.45am to 3.30pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

The role will all involve supporting pupils with a variety of needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health, and will include classroom-based support, as well as working in small groups with other staff and pupils.

• Knowledge or experience of supporting children with complex additional needs.
• A friendly, nurturing personality, with a willingness to listen to the interests of a child and use that knowledge to build strong, positive relationships.
• They can be a child’s trusted adult with a calming nature to help the child feel safe and secure.
• The ability to support a child to access learning within the classroom environment including positive interactions with peers and supporting academic achievement.
• The ability to recognise the needs of the child and be able to adapt activities and offer outlets to support sensory and regulatory needs.
• Willingness to engage with outside services and the school SEND and Inclusion team.
