Headteacher (with some teaching responsibility)

Job Introduction

Helpringham Academy is seeking a Headteacher (with some teaching responsibility).

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic school in the heart of its community. Our learners at Helpringham Academy are amazing and you would be leading an enthusiastic and forward-thinking team in a well-resourced and attractive learning environment including Nursery and Early-Years provision. We are looking to appoint an innovative and dynamic Headteacher to lead the academy into the next stage of its development.

As a Multi-Academy Trust, Voyage currently educates 3,800 wonderful learners and employs 520 staff team members in the Boston, South Holland and Spalding area of Lincolnshire. As a Voyage Headteacher, you would join a talented, friendly and collaborative team of Headteachers and other leaders in our MAT. Each Headteacher has the autonomy to lead and develop their own academy to best meet the needs of their learners but as an organisation and a team we are there to support, inspire and help each other. We want to be a learning organisation that is continually improving, and we want to positively affect the lives of every learner who is educated with us.

We require all our headteachers to be collaborative, ambitious and motivated - and we are searching for a Headteacher for Helpringham Academy who can build and sustain a team-orientated culture of best practice and continual improvement. We are seeking an experienced educational leader with a high degree of personal integrity and excellent interpersonal and communication skills who can be a confident ambassador and will develop partnerships outside the academy, as well as nurture leaders and leadership talent within the school. The Headteacher will have overall responsibility for the highest standards of organisation, management and conduct of the academy, leading collaboratively with the Trust and its academies, staff, children, parents and the wider community to shape and deliver the academy’s vision, ethos and strategic direction. There maybe occasions where the post requires teaching to enhance the timetable, but will not be a class commitment.

Visits to the academy are warmly welcomed and highly encouraged. To arrange a tour of the school and to have an opportunity to have an informal discussion with the Chief Education Officer, Clare Willerton, or the Trust Improvement Lead, Corinna Wright, about the Trust, academy and its aims, please email: recruitment@voyage-education.org or call 01205 331900 (option 4).

To apply, please visit the vacancies section on the Trust's website: www.voyage-education.org

Closing date for application is: midnight 23rd May 2025
