SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Introduction

Hope House School is an Independent School set in open countryside, just outside Newark in Nottinghamshire. We support children and young people between the ages of 5 to 19 with an Autism diagnosis and associated conditions. 

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will take a leading role in supporting our teachers to deliver engaging and individualised learning. 


Your responsibilities will include:

Learning: Delivering planned learning activities and teaching programmes to individuals or small groups, adapting activities based on student response.

Planning & Assessment: Collaborating with teachers to plan lessons, evaluate student progress, and assist in developing Individual Plans.

Student Wellbeing: Supporting the physical, social, and emotional needs of pupils, including personal care and behaviour regulation.

Inclusion: Promoting a culture of kindness and mutual respect, ensuring every student is fully included in school life.


What We Are Looking For

Qualifications: Level 3 qualification in Child Development, Education, or a related field is essential (or evidence of working towards one).

Education: GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths.

Experience: At least 1 year experience working with children in a school/nursery environment.

Personal Qualities: Patience, resilience, and a creative approach to supporting students with complex needs.

Transport: Due to our rural location with no public transport, having your own car or other means of transport is essential.
