SEND Cover Supervisor (Secondary)

Job Introduction

The Lincoln Saints Federation cater for students and pupils between the ages of 2-19 with a range of needs. We are looking for cover supervisor teaching assistants to work with students with a range of complex needs and disabilities, including physical and medical needs at our St Christopher’s Secondary site.

We are looking for a flexible and organised person to support the daily running of the school in the absence of the usual teaching assistants. These positions will primarily be based in the informal and semi formal classes; however, the successful candidates will be expected to cover in all pathways as need arises and potentially across sites.

We are looking for candidates who have:
• Experience of working in a similar role or willingness to learn and develop skills.
• Experience of working with young people with anxiety/mental health needs.
• Experience of complex and challenging behaviours
• Experience of profound and multiple learning difficulties.
• Experience of using sensory strategies.
• Training for moving & handling or willingness to learn.
• Training for administration of medication or willingness to learn.
• A drive to ensure children receive the appropriate support to achieve their potential.
• The ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
• Flexibility and adaptability.
• Resilience and patience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• A willingness to ‘go the extra mile’.

Fluency Duty
