Job Introduction
The Headteacher and Trustee Board are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, adaptable and enthusiastic teaching assistant to become part of the school team.
The successful candidate’s role will primarily involve working with an EYFS pupil on an individual or small group basis, supporting them with their learning as well as with their behavioural, emotional and sensory needs. Part of their role may also involve supporting other pupils and delivering interventions. The post is temporary, dependent upon the needs of the child changing, the child leaving the school or the needs of the school changing.
Candidates will need to be able to use their initiative and have good communication skills. Candidates will be directed by the class teacher in supporting individual pupils, under the guidance of the Special Educational Needs Coordinator. Candidates will need to be able to adapt to different situations and be able to work with other adults and pupils to support learning. They should have an NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent and have experience of working with children. Experience of working with children with an EHC Plan, Autism and/or Global Developmental Delay is desirable.
