School Business Manager- Maternity Cover

We are seeking a dedicated and preferably experienced School Business Manager, to join our team in a Maternity Cover role to: -

• To be responsible for the strategic planning aspects including all financial implications
and ensuring that the school makes the best use of resources available
• To provide an efficient and effective administrative, financial and personnel management
of the school, all general training and development of staff and all matters within the
management of the school which are supportive to but do not involve the teaching
function.
• To be responsible for risk management and health and safety
Ideally the successful candidate will have previous experience of School finance, administration
and office management.

This crucial role involves:
• Budget setting, monitoring and
management
• Assist the Headteacher in strategic
planning aspects of the school,
including all financial implications,
• GDPR and Data Protection
• Human Resources and Payroll
• Site and Premises Management
• Procurement
• Health & Safety
• Contract Management
• All administrative aspects of the
school
• Line management of staff

We are looking for a professional who can contribute significantly to the efficient running and continuous improvement of our schools at a strategic level.

Job Type: Temporary (Maternity cover)
Grade 8 – FTE £35,412 (actual hours 35 hours per week - 39 weeks per year) - Salary may vary dependant on experience of successful applicant.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, term time plus 5 additional training days
The post is for 39 weeks a year and will begin at the start of the new academic year 2026-2027 however training dates in the Summer term to become familiar with the role may be accommodated. The planned end date for this post 31st August 2027.
