Job Introduction
Monks Abbey Primary School is seeking to appoint an experienced, organised and forward-thinking School Business Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key strategic role within our large, busy and welcoming primary school. Working closely with the Headteacher, Governors and Senior Leadership Team, you will help ensure that the school’s resources, systems and support services enable us to provide the very best for our pupils.
The successful candidate will take a lead role across finance and budget management, HR, administration, IT, premises, contracts, health and safety & SCR, and the management of an office team & support staff. You will be expected to work with a high degree of independence, using your initiative to solve problems, improve systems and ensure the school achieves excellent value for money.

Experience of school business management and a relevant qualification would be advantageous. However, we would also welcome applications from candidates with strong transferable experience from other sectors who can demonstrate the skills, knowledge and leadership required for the role.

Start date: ideally November 2026, but can be agreed based on successful candidates notice period.
Grade starts G9/24
Working week 35 hour per week during term time plus one week for training, specific hour may be negotiated
Salary circa £32,500
Fluency Duty
In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
