Site Operative
Infinity Academies Trust
Full time – 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year


Infinity Academies Trust is seeking to appoint an energetic, practical and motivated Site Operative to join our team, helping us to ensure our schools remain safe, welcoming and purposeful environments for children, staff and visitors.

This role offers the opportunity to support three schools within the Trust:

Coleby CE Primary Academy – 12 Rectory Rd, Coleby, Lincoln LN5 0AJ
Leadenham CE Primary Academy – Main Rd, Leadenham, Lincoln LN5 0QB
St Peter’s at Eastgate CofE Infant School – Greetwell Gate, Lincoln LN2 4AW
Because the post covers multiple sites, a full driving licence and the ability to travel between locations is essential.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, cares about the appearance and safety of our schools, and reflects the high expectations we have of our pupils. Some IT skills are desirable; however, full training will be provided for all systems, including our electronic health & safety compliance system, Every.

Key Responsibilities
The role includes a wide range of duties relating to premises and grounds maintenance, security, Health & Safety, and day‑to‑day site operations, including line management of the cleaning team. Responsibilities include:

Site Security & Safety
Ensuring the security of buildings and grounds
Carrying out daily internal and external site checks
Responding to emergencies and assisting with general site enquiries
Keeping paths and walkways clear of snow and ice, including gritting when required
Maintenance & Repairs
Proactively identifying and addressing minor maintenance issues
Reporting major issues to the Operations Team
Performing basic repairs, including:
Carpentry: fitting boards, easing doors, small fencing repairs
Plumbing: fixing leaks, unblocking toilets, maintaining drains
Electrical: replacing plug fuses, bulbs and light tubes
General: patch plastering, floor repairs, graffiti removal, replacing fixtures, minor glazing, path and surface repairs
Operating heating systems to maintain appropriate temperatures and reporting any faults
Carrying out internal and external decorating
Grounds Maintenance
Clearing litter, debris and fallen leaves
Ensuring shrub areas, grass, courtyards and outdoor spaces are kept tidy
Basic upkeep beyond the grounds maintenance contract
Compliance & Record Keeping
Completing and supporting Risk Assessments
Using Every to record PPM, compliance checks and defects (training provided)
Maintaining COSHH-compliant chemical stores and ensuring COSHH documentation is accessible
Overseeing contractors and ensuring safe, compliant working practices
General Duties
Moving furniture and equipment as required
Receiving deliveries and ensuring correct storage
Maintaining the cleanliness of signage, name boards, windows and the cycle canopy
Ensuring safe storage and care of all equipment provided
