Claypole is a small, friendly and thriving village school in an attractive, rural location. We have small class sizes where children are taught in single-aged year groups (except for one mixed year group class). This is a school where children and adults have fun, work hard and achieve our very best. We love sports, art and music and produce fantastic work. You will hear much laughter and see smiling faces when you visit us, but you will also see good quality work in every part of our school.
All schools have their own distinctive ‘feel’ which makes each one unique. We believe that the ‘special feel’ at Claypole Church of England Primary School is to do with our caring, friendly atmosphere. Our school continues to develop in many exciting ways, providing high expectations and an even more enriching experience for our children. We are all extremely proud of our exemplary behaviour, commitment to achieving high standards and providing the very best opportunities for the children in our care.
Our children achieve high results and academic standards are very important to us. Alongside this, our children care about each other within our Christian Values and their behaviour is exemplary. We have talented children and staff who strive for excellence, promote harmony and value achievement.
I am extremely proud to lead a team that is committed to achieving high standards and providing the very best opportunities for the children in our care. Staff, supported by governors, work hard to deliver a rich and challenging curriculum; to prepare children for future education; and to help them acquire the skills and enthusiasm needed to pursue learning for the rest of their lives and develop a lifelong love of learning.
The last Ofsted inspection (July 2023) identified our school as ‘good’ with outstanding features and our recent SIAMS inspection (October 2024) identified our school as strong, successful & flourishing!
We benefit from highly positive relationships with the families that make up our school community. Attendance is high and behaviour is exemplary. Academic standards are consistently above national averages and we are proud that are 'achievements for all' put us in the top 5% in England. Staff and pupils enjoy working in the calm and focused learning environments that have been created.
Our active Pupil Parliament (including House Captains and Sports Ambassadors) ensures that there is always something happening in our school. They support the staff in raising funds for charities, making decisions on topics and coming up with ideas for new initiatives.
Our school is ambitious: it continues to reflect on its practices by evaluating what works well and what could work even better. Our school wants the very best for the children who attend it. We see our role to be preparing children for the challenges and adventures of life: they are learning for life.
