School requires: - Temporary Learning Support Assistant
Temporary Learning Support Assistant qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 (please note, the school will consider Staff who are currently training on an NVQ Level 3, and appointment will be subject to successful accreditation).
From: 1st September 2026 until 21st July 2027
Temporary position - This position may be offered as a temporary extension to the position, subject to the future needs of the school.
Total – 31 hours per week
16 hours per week (Mornings ) & 15 hours per week (afternoon) Governors would consider 2 successful applicants covering the role as a reasonable adjustment.
Salary (G2-03 – G2-06) £24,413 - £24,796 31hrs pro rata based on 37 hours.
The applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability to:
• Provide learning and care support for pupils with special educational needs & Disabilities (SEND)
• Lead the learning of individual children, small groups inside and outside the classroom
• Provide intimate care support.
• Support children with a nurturing, empathetic nature.
• Work with the class teacher to plan and deliver activities
• Support pupils with routines, transitions and behaviour management
• Foster pupil independence and promote a child-centred focus
• Experience of complex and challenging behaviours
• Experience of profound and multiple learning difficulties.
• Experience of using sensory strategies.
• Input, analyse and reflect on assessment data
• Be flexible, and happy to join a motivated, supportive team and be dedicated and enthusiastic.
• Train for moving & handling and administration of medication
• Show initiative.
• Be willing to take on additional duties to aid the running of the school such as play duties.
• Show excellent communication skills and liaise with parents and professionals.
• Uphold safeguarding policies
