Job Introduction
Walcott Primary School is seeking a caring, creative and enthusiastic Wrap Around Care Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to help create a warm, welcoming and engaging environment for children aged 5–11 attending our wrap around provision.
The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting children’s development and wellbeing, with a particular interest in encouraging children to enjoy and explore the outdoor environment. You will plan and deliver a wide range of stimulating indoor and outdoor activities that inspire creativity, play and learning.
The hours are 22 per week, Monday to Friday, term time only working from 7.30am- 9.00am then 3.15pm- 6.00pm. We will consider splitting the job between morning and evening sessions if suitable candidates are found.
Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering a variety of fun, inclusive and age-appropriate activities for children aged
5–11.
• Making the most of the outdoor environment and promoting active, imaginative play.
• Creating a homely, relaxed and nurturing atmosphere where every child feels safe,
valued and supported.
• Supervising and preparing healthy breakfasts and snacks in line with current
guidance and school policies.
• Supporting children’s social, emotional and physical development.
• Ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing at
all times.
We are looking for someone who:
Has a genuine passion for working with children.
Is creative, energetic and able to engage children in a range of activities.
Values the benefits of outdoor learning and play.
Can build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Is organised, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Has experience of working with primary-aged children, ideally within a school or childcare setting. Existing paediatric first aid qualification is desirable but training can be given.
