1-1 Teaching Assistant

Job Introduction

32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks of the year (Temporary contract—whilst child on roll)

We are currently recruiting a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 3 with specific learning difficulties. The position is Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

The successful candidates would need to:

● Have a patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to managing complex behaviours and supporting emotional development, using trauma informed practices.
● Have an understanding of safeguarding practices and a commitment to creating a safe, inclusive environment for all children
● Have the ability to work closely, in partnership with colleagues, as a team member and be able to overcome and resolve challenges
● Be able to be self-directed, proactive, highly organised and punctual with good attendance
● Show enthusiasm, dedication, creativity and flexibility
● Maintain a calm and consistent approach to working with children
● Use good communication skills with colleagues, children and parents
● Have a great sense of humour and fun
● Demonstrate professional behaviour including professional confidentiality
