Job Introduction
Billinghay Church of England Primary School are looking to appoint 2 dedicated special educational teaching assistants to share the full time 32.5 hours of a pupil with an EHCP, joining school in September 25.
We plan to share this role with one person to support the pupil in a morning from 8.50am – 12.30pm, 5 days a week. The other to support him from 12.30 – 3.20pm, 5 days a week. The role involves supervision at break and lunch times.
Previous experience of working with children in a school setting and/with additional needs would be beneficial.
The successful candidate will:
• Be able to work with an individual one-to-one working towards their EHCP targets and sometimes supporting small groups.
• Be able to provide support to enable the child to be included in all activities.
• Be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with children and other adults (including teachers and agencies working the child)
• Have high expectations for the children’s learning, behaviour and personal development.
• Carry out some administrative tasks as required, including the contribution of essential information relating to termly and annual reviews.
The posts are temporary until assistance is no longer required or as a result of the child leaving school, whichever is the earliest.
