Assistant SENDCo and HLTA

Job Introduction

Assistant to SENDCo – approximately 10 hours per week (flexible hours during the school day could be discussed)
HLTA Role – 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday mornings

Hours: Full-time or split between two part-time roles (this can be discussed to suit the candidate and school)
Start: October 2025


The Role(s)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team and support our children. This role includes Assistant SENDCo responsibilities, working closely with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure tailored support and inclusive learning experiences.

We have the capacity to offer these as two separate roles should this be more suitable for the candidate and school.

You will:

Assistant SENDCo:
Build positive relationships with children, promoting independence, high self-esteem, and social inclusion
Assist in the delivery and administration of individual education, support, and care plans
Support children’s social, emotional, and mental health needs, escalating concerns appropriately
Support with referrals and family meetings.

Teaching Assistant:
Work alongside teachers to plan and deliver adapted learning activities across the curriculum
Use effective behaviour management strategies aligned with school policies
Organise learning spaces and resources to maintain a safe and stimulating environment
Collaborate with colleagues and professionals
Contribute to your own professional development

Fluency Duty
