St Margaret's C of E Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic
Caretaker and Cleaner to join our team
The ideal candidate would take on both posts.
Caretaker - St Margaret's C of E Primary School
Grade: G4.09 - G4.12 (£25,989pa - £27,254119pa): Actual salary for post £2,310pa - £2,422pa
Position type: Part-time
Contract type: Permanent, to start as soon as possible.
This post will be for 3.75 hours per week (mornings 7.45am – 8.30am). Times can be discussed at interview. This post is for 40 weeks of the year.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
To be responsible for the ordering, cleaning equipment and materials and
the secure storage thereof. To be responsible for the cleaning of a specified
area in accordance with the County Council’s current standards and
methods.
To report to the Headteacher all matters relating to the premises, cleaning
equipment and materials.
To carry out caretaking duties as directed by the Headteacher (or other
designated person) as outlined on the job information sheet. E.g. minor
repairs to fabric of building and/or equipment.
To be a key holder for the school premises where it is considered
necessary by the Headteacher. To be responsible for the routine and non-routine (e.g. emergencies) opening and closing of the premises.
To be responsible for the regular checking and testing of the fire alarm
warning system sounders in line with Lincolnshire County Council guidance
contained in the Health and Safety manual, recording the event and any
issues arising. Checking heating, water and testing battery banks for
emergency lights where relevant. Regular checking and recording the
condition and safety of tools and equipment in line with the Provision and
Use of Work Equipment Regulations. Reporting any failures to
Headteacher.
To ensure that all external areas, paths and drives remain free from litter
and hazardous materials and that all drains and gullies are free flowing and
clean as appropriate. To clear pathways of snow and apply salt when
required keeping records of this action
To deal with lettings as agreed with the Headteacher.
Cleaner – St Margaret’s C of E Primary School
Grade: G1.02 – G1.03 (£24,224pa - £24,413pa): Actual salary for post £8,234pa - £8,298pa
Position type: Part-time
Contract type: Permanent, to start as soon as possible.
This post will be for 15 hours per week (3.30pm – 6.30pm). Times can be discussed at interview This post is for 38 weeks of the year.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Undertake cleaning of allocated areas in line with specified standards and as directed.
Operate / use domestic and industrial cleaning equipment and materials, following appropriate training.
Store allocated equipment and materials safely and securely.
Perform duties in line with health and safety regulations and take immediate action where hazards are identified.
Report serious hazards or defects in equipment to line manager immediately.
Collect and dispose of waste.
Refill and replace soap, towels and other materials are needed.
To be a key holder for the school premises where required.
To carry out all duties in a safe manner and in line with current school policies and procedures.
To present a positive personal image, contributing to a welcoming school environment which supports equal opportunities for all.
To perform, in accordance with any directions, which may reasonably be given to you by your Line Manager or Headteacher from time to time, such particular duties as may reasonably be assigned.
