Job Introduction
The Athena School is seeking to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.
Athena School is a specialist SEMH provision within a Federation, supporting pupils through a nurture-based approach that places relationships, wellbeing, and inclusion at the heart of everything we do. The Role
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the school kitchen, including:
• Assisting with food preparation and service
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Supporting a calm and positive lunchtime experience for pupils
• Working effectively as part of a small, supportive team
Previous catering or kitchen experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
We are looking for someone who:
• Is reliable, organised, and able to work independently
• Has a positive, calm, and flexible approach
• Enjoys working in a school environment
• Is committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
Experience of working in a school or with children is advantageous but not required.

Grade: G2 Point 3
Actual Salary: £6,709
Hours: Mondays and Tuesdays, 8:00am – 2:00pm
12 hours per week, term time only plus one additional week (pro rata including training days)
Start date: Immediately
