Job Introduction

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a teacher to join our friendly and supportive team at Hackthorn CofE Primary SchoolThis position is for 0.8 FTE (permanent; part-time). 

Are you an inspiring and reflective practitioner? Are you keen to develop the whole child to their full potential? Are you somebody that goes above and beyond to provide an outstanding education?

Due to the small nature of our school, the successful candidate will need to be confident in teaching mixed age classes, have effective communication skills and nurture every child as an individual.

We wish to appoint a committed, passionate and hard-working teacher to join our dedicated team as soon as possible but no later than 2nd September 2025.

We are looking for the right person to inspire and challenge our children who are keen to learn and love the opportunities that the committed staff provide them with. Unfortunately, this position would not be suitable for an Early Careers Teacher.

This post would suit someone who:

  • Has mixed age class teaching experience
  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner who utilises evidence-based pedagogy
  • Has a secure knowledge of the primary curriculum
  • Has a good knowledge of child development and what helps all children learn
  • Has high expectations of themselves and of what the children can achieve
  • Works as part of a wider team to raise levels of aspiration and achievement for all
  • Inspires and motivates children, staff, parents/carers
  • Shows a commitment to ensuring equality of opportunity for all learners
  • Understands how to nurture and support all children
  • Has good self-management, communication and organisation skills
  • Is a proactive team player, who can use their initiative and who makes things happen

Fluency Duty

In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
