This is a career-defining opportunity for a proven senior leader who is also an outstanding classroom practitioner, ready to play a pivotal role in driving the school’s journey towards excellence for every child.
This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead teaching and learning across the school, building on our already high standards, promoting inclusion, and fostering excellence for every child. The Deputy Headteacher will work closely with and support the Headteacher, providing strategic and operational leadership to help shape the school’s vision, priorities, and ongoing improvement.
We are looking for a strategic and inspirational leader who can:
Inspire and lead the school’s teaching and learning with clarity, ambition, and measurable impact
Demonstrate exceptional behaviour management, creating calm, purposeful learning environments where all pupils thrive
Show a proven track record of implementing and driving the School Improvement Plan (SIP) cycle, ensuring priorities are translated into sustained improvements in standards
Confidently conduct lesson observations and provide high-quality, constructive feedback that empowers staff to enhance teaching and learning
Use coaching and co-coaching approaches to develop staff, build confidence, and embed continuous improvement
Be highly organised, able to prioritise effectively, and work with efficiency and impact across multiple leadership responsibilities
Engage critically with educational research, using evidence-informed approaches to drive change
Lead implementation with rigour — following initiatives through the full cycle of planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and refinement to ensure standards are positively impacted
Empower and challenge staff, raising standards and unlocking potential across the school while maintaining an inclusive, supportive professional culture
Lead with vision, ambition, and influence as a trusted role model to pupils, staff, parents, and the wider community
Translate strategic goals into measurable impact, driving the school forward while maintaining its supportive, inclusive culture
The successful candidate will bring:
Proven whole-school leadership experience with a strong record of raising standards through strategic school improvement
Outstanding classroom practice and deep understanding of high-quality teaching and learning
The ability to translate vision into effective systems, structures, and sustainable impact
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build high-performing teams
Passion, resilience, integrity, strong work ethic and dedication to making a real difference in the lives of children
We offer:
A forward-thinking, proactive school with a highly supportive and collaborative leadership team
A motivated, professional staff, committed Governors, and happy, engaged pupils
A well-resourced environment with opportunities to influence the school’s future and professional growth
The chance to leave a lasting legacy and help shape a school on its journey to excellence.
