Sir Francis Hill Community Primary School - Enhanced Support Teaching Assistant Posts

Temporary to start with effect from 1st September 2025.

We are seeking to appoint five enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated Enhanced Support Teaching Assistants, to work in our growing school, to support pupils with additional needs. The posts available are as follows:

• 30 hours per week, teaching assistant to work with a pupil who will be moving into a year 1 class
• 30 hours per week, teaching assistant to work with a pupil who will be moving into a year 5 class
• 17.5 hours per week, teaching assistant to work with a pupil who will be moving into a year 1 class
• 17.5 hours per week, teaching assistant to work with a pupil who will be moving into a year 5 class
• 30 hours per week, teaching assistant to work with two pupils moving into a year 2 class. Role split morning and afternoon between these two pupils. This is a maternity cover post.

All these roles will all involve supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties, who often display challenging behaviour. Some work will be classroom based and some working in small groups with other staff and pupils.

The school invites applications from experienced teaching assistants who can demonstrate:
• Knowledge or experience of supporting children with complex additional needs.
• A friendly, nurturing personality, with a willingness to listen to the interests of a child and use that knowledge to build strong, positive relationships.
• They can be a child’s trusted adult with a strong personality & calming nature to help the child feel safe and secure.
• The ability to support a child to access learning within the classroom environment including positive interactions with peers and supporting academic achievement.
• The ability to recognise the needs of the child and be able to adapt activities and offer outlets to support sensory and regulatory needs.
• Willingness to engage with outside services and the school SEN and Inclusion team.

Fluency Duty

In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
