Contract Type: Part time, permanent, non-class based
St Michael's Church of England Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic committed professional to join us as a SENDCo for 0.3 – 1 ½ days per week.
The successful candidate will:
• Support with the strategic development of SEND provision in the school.
• Be highly knowledgeable in SEND legislation, the SEND Code of Practice (2014), and inclusive strategies.
• Complete Annual Reviews, Interim reviews and Emergency Reviews of EHCP’s in line with the SEND code of practice.
• Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability.
• Oversee the looked after pupils within the school.
• Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies.
• Advise on the use of school’s budget and other resources to meet pupils’ needs effectively, including staff development.
• Promote inclusion in the school community and access to the curriculum.
• Leading and managing SEND support staff and the effective deployment of staff and resource in line with the headteacher.
• Lead on interventions that will support all pupils.
• Quality assurance of Teaching and Learning with a focus on SEND provision.
• Attend and review PEP meetings.
Our ideal candidate will have:
• Have an accredited SENDCo qualification
• Hold QTS or QTL’s
• Are passionate about education and inclusion
• Have leadership experience and qualities
• Are ready to develop their leadership skills within a school
• Can effectively manage the SEND provision in partnership with the Headteacher
