Job Introduction
This is a chance to be part of something that could genuinely change children’s experiences of education.
In September 2026, we will open our brand-new SEND Hub provision - a significant and exciting step in our commitment to ensuring every child receives the education, care and sense of belonging that they deserve. We are seeking two exceptional Teaching Assistants to help shape this provision from the very beginning and play a vital role in an important new chapter for our school community.
This is more than a support role. It is an opportunity to help create a provision that will genuinely transform children’s experiences of school: a space where pupils with a range of additional needs feel safe, understood, valued and able to thrive both academically and personally, whilst remaining fully part of our caring village school community.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about inclusion and understand that meaningful progress comes through relationships, patience, consistency and a deep understanding of individual pupils. The successful candidates will work closely with the SEND Hub Teacher, SENDCo, families and external professionals to help create a calm, nurturing and purposeful environment where children feel supported and successful.
The Hub will support pupils with a range of SEND needs and therefore we are seeking people who are adaptable, resilient and able to respond positively and creatively to the varying barriers pupils may face in their learning and development. This role will be both rewarding and demanding and will suit individuals who are committed to improving outcomes for children with SEND and who genuinely believe in the importance of belonging, inclusion and high expectations for every child.
The successful candidates will:
• support pupils individually and in small groups to access learning and develop independence
• help create a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment
• build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
• support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development
• work collaboratively as part of a highly supportive team
• contribute to the development of an inclusive culture across the school
In return, we can offer:
• the opportunity to help shape a brand-new SEND provision from the ground up
• a welcoming and supportive village school community
• a strong inclusive ethos centred around belonging and relationships
• ongoing professional development and training opportunities
• the chance to make a genuine difference to children’s lives every day
Visits to the school are encouraged and welcomed.
The Edward Richardson Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
