Job Introduction
The Headteacher and Governors of Great Steeping Primary School wish to appoint a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work one-to-one with children to deliver KS2 maths interventions for 6 hours a week on a temporary basis (23rd February 2026 to 31st May 2026)
L.C.C Pay Scale – G5 12
About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider staff team to:
• Deliver one to one or small groups maths interventions to KS2 pupils
• Liaise with the class teacher to tailor interventions to the specific needs of the pupil, which may include pre-teaching key maths knowledge and skills
• Use appropriate scaffolding and questioning to develop pupils’ understanding and independence, including the use of concrete manipulatives and pictorial representations as appropriate
• Integrate assessment for learning into the interventions so that progress can be tracked and adaptations made
• Feedback to the class teacher regarding progress in intervention

• Show initiative, flexibility and a strong understanding of the primary maths curriculum
• Work well as part of team and communicate effectively with colleagues
• Be committed to inclusive practice and supporting the needs of all learners
