Job Introduction
South View Community Primary School are looking to appoint a temporary Level 1 – General Teaching Assistant for 25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. The appointment will end on 31st August 2026. However, this may become a permanent roll for the right candidate.
Experience of working with SEND children would be an advantage.
This is a temporary position.
The successful candidate will be committed to helping children to succeed, have excellent communication skills and be able to work using their own initiative.
Overview of the role of a Teaching Assistant:
Providing support to children in and out of the classroom.
Assisting with a range of educational needs.
Providing children with the care and compassion they need to thrive in school.
Liaising with parents and external agencies where suitable.
Supporting with appropriate interventions such as phonics and maths.
Working collaboratively with the teacher and the wider school team to improve outcomes for children.

Fluency Duty
