Job Introduction
Ropsley Church of England Primary School is seeking a caring, committed, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing dedicated support for a Key Stage 1 pupil, alongside contributing to the wider life of the school through breakfast club and lunchtime provision.
The successful candidate will work closely with a delightful and engaging child who has a love of nature, a rich vocabulary, and a wonderfully imaginative approach to the world. We are looking for someone who can nurture these strengths while providing the structured support she needs to thrive in school.
Key Responsibilities
To provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs, enabling full access to learning and school life
To support the development of communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
To work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals to implement personalised support strategies
To contribute to a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
To support and supervise pupils during breakfast club and lunchtime, encouraging positive play and social interaction
To promote independence while offering appropriate levels of support
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Is patient, adaptable, and nurturing in their approach
Can build strong, trusting relationships with children
Values play, creativity, and child-led learning
Works effectively as part of a team and communicates well with colleagues and families
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
