Teaching Assistant

Job Introduction

Gonerby Hill Foot Church of England School wishes to appoint a motivated and committed Teaching Assistant to support KS1 pupils. The post is initially temporary from September 2025 until 31 August 2026, however the needs of the school are constantly changing, and permanent opportunities arise frequently.

We are looking for someone:
 who is caring, enthusiastic and innovative.
 who has an ability to foster excellent working relationships with children and adults.
 who understands how to support children with specific needs.
 who can support a child’s learning, behaviour, social inclusion as well as their social and emotional development.
 who is a good team player and able to work well as part of a supportive staff.
 Who has experience of working in a school environment or other educational setting. Nursery experience could be beneficial.

The successful candidate will:
 have good Literacy and Numeracy skills (GCSE or equivalent) and NVQ 2 (or equivalent)
 have an ability to use their own initiative and be proactive.
 be passionate about improving outcomes and supporting children to overcome barriers to learning and fulfil their potential

Fluency Duty

In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
